LANGUAGE
English is widely spoken in Fiji as one of the three main languages, along with Fijian and Hindustani. All universities use English as the language of instruction, so language barriers should be no concern when studying in Fiji.
ACCESS
There are direct flights to Fiji from Port Moresby with Air Niugini, or you can travel via Brisbane, Australia.
Domestic flight in Fiji is reasonably priced.
EDUCATION SYSTEM
Primary school is free and attended by children usually from the age of 6 up to 16 years (8 years). They then go on to secondary school for up to 5 years - students either leave after 3 years or continue to complete their final 2 years to qualify for tertiary education. Very few secondary schools offer vocational education.
LIFESTYLE
Fijian life revolves around the church, the village, the rugby field and the garden – similar to PNG. It is generally safe, and friendly. Fijians have a very laid back, relaxed attitude, and, like PNG, they have the notion of “Fiji Time” (like PNG time), but that doesn’t mean you should slack off your studies!

WORK DURING YOUR STUDY
International students studying in Fiji are not permitted to work.
STUDENT VISA
Once student accept an offer and have a valid passport, student can fly to Fiji and apply for a study permit.
